What is the importance of the treaty of Versailles in the context of World war 2?

After the end of World War 1 the peace conference took place in Versailles in 1919.

Ans:It was the biggest conference at that time and 32 Nations delegates attended.

The five victorious countries of World war 1 USA ,UK, France Italy and Japan attended the conference but not invited defeated countries like Germany Austria and Turkey.

To weaken Germany the treaty imposed territorial and military penalties on it.

Territorial penalties

Germany forcefully returned the colonies in Africa and European areas like Alsace and lorraine which occupied France in 1871.

Military penalties

It was asked to pull down its army strength to100,000 from 900,000 This treaty insisted Germany not have submarines and restricted its navel strength to six battleships.

Due to the above penalties Germans thought that treaty of Versailles was forcefully imposed on them and they had no respect or responsibility for it.

India -RELIEF DIVISIONS

The sun rises two hours earlier in Arunachal Pradesh as compared to Gujarat in the West but the clocks shows the same time how does this happen?(4Marks)

Ans:

*India lies between 68° 7′ and 97° 25′ minutes East longitudes the longitudinal extension of India is nearly 30 degrees.

*The Earth takes 4 minutes of time to move one longitude to another longitude so total 360 longitudes equals to 24 hours.

In India there was a difference of longitudinal is nearly 30 degrees so 30 ×4=120mnts. That means 2 hours.

*So sun rises 2 hours earlier in Arunachal Pradesh compared to Gujarat.

*To avoid these time confusion every country adapted their local standard meridian.

*In India 82° 30′ minutes taken as standard meridian passing near Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh is the standard time for the whole country.

*so that the clocks  shows the same time
